Joomlabamboo template and extension documentation

For all Joomla 3+ templates built using the Zen Grid Framework v4 (any theme after October 2014) please refer to the Zen Grid Framework v4 documentation.

The Zen Grid Framework is the evolution of the Zen Grid Template that we implemented way back in November 2009. Since then the template has undergone some enormous change and is now a standalone template framework that has been designed to be used in conjunction with Zen Grid Framework compatible templates.

The framework is a separately installed template package that installs just like any other Joomla template. In order to use the Zen Grid Framework you need to install the core Zen Grid framework plus your Zen Grid compatible template. Please visit the article on installing a Joomla template for a step by step on how to do that.

Once installed you will see that there have been two additions made to the contents of your template manager in the Joomla admin (extensions > template manager). As you can see the last item on the list is the framework itself while the other items in the list are Zen Grid Framework compatible templates.

Once the framework and template have been installed successfully you then need to make the Zen Grid Framework compatible  template the default template. Editing and changing the configuring for the template is achieved by editing the specific template parameters. There are no options available for the Zen Grid Framework itself.

Please ensure that you do not make the Zen Grid Framework the default template.

* Please note that the Zen Grid Framework is no longer a template and should not be made the default template on your site.

Please also note that the Zen Grid Framework requires php5 to be able to run properly. If after installing a Zen Grid compatible template and the framework your Joomla site generates the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/26/d171984212/htdocs/tradenet/templates/zengridframework/includes/yth.php on line 36

Then this means that your server is using php v4. Often changing to php5 is a matter of adding a rule to the htaccess file on your site but it's best to ask your host for help in determining the best way to use php on your server.
