Zen Grid Framework v4 (zgf4) compatible themes are built to be compatible with Joomla 3.3+.

ZGF4 themes are stand alone Joomla templates and do not require an plugin for it's template functionality.

However the Zen Menu plugin is required to create mega menus with these themes. And the Zen Shortcode plugin is used to display icons and other typographical elements using easy to short codes.
